LIGHT THAT TRAVELS
One-of-a-kind ceramic candle holder and watermelon made by Martha Alicia Jiménez. Both are signed by the artist and include a hand-painted tag. Light that Travels “honors every person who is and was ripped from their soil with blood, in every corner of the planet.” This piece condemns genocide and stands with Palestinian mothers.
Through her work, Martha Alicia explores the themes of healing and repair, beauty in rupture, and connecting with her body as a woman and as a mother. She focuses on creating free-hand sculptural clay pieces.
Her pieces express the intimate relationship of the artist's body with her femininity and movement.
**This piece is currently being shown at an exhibition in Los Angeles, CA. If purchased now, it will ship mid-May when the show finishes.
There is a very slight surface crack along the eyes due to an experimentation with the clay. This is normal when these two clays are combined and does not hinder the quality or stability of the sculpture.
