The way in which something is made, the materials used, the person and intention behind it, come into your home along with the object. Energy transmutes from one to the other. I see it as a necessity to take this information with the utmost respect; not only for the well-being of our households, but also for that of the artisans, their communities, and the earth as a whole.

Everything I source is handmade, one-of-a-kind or vintage; sometimes all three. In an economy that relies on mass production and immediate gratification, it is my hope to connect with those who seek to slow down. I hope to bring beauty and art into everything you surround yourself with, no matter how simple it might be.

I believe that everything is connected, which has led me on many journeys, seeking out how one thing affects another. My culinary career led me around the world, researching different cultures through their foodways. I focused on the entire process of food production: where & how ingredients were grown; how they got to the market; and how they were prepared and consumed in different parts of the world. Over the years, I shifted my studies to Yoga and Feng Shui, learning how our external environments affect us internally.

After living in México, I found myself creating relationships with the artisan community around the country, primarily focusing on Oaxaca. The artisans’ respect for the earth in their craftsmanship led my curiosity into strong partnerships with the people I work with for Pls Try @ Home.

Through painting, my relationship with food, my body and the home, I have learned to heal myself with simple tools that are available to me at all times. I hope my work brings you a deeper connection with yourself and your environment.
